Rest area and viewpoint Braset

The Braset rest area is a vantage point for admiring the Engenbreen, a mighty branch of the Svartisen glacier. The Engenbreen glacier is Europe’s lowest-lying glacier, with its lowest point only 100 metres above sea level. The main glacier derives its name from the old designation “Svartis” (Black ice), referring to the deep blue hue of the ice.
